We’ve been fairly quiet lately, more so than we want to be; but behind the scenes we’ve been working on some ideas. We’d like to reveal one to you just a little.
All of us at Outdoor Freaks either have our own children, nieces, nephews or close friends with children; and get to see how much they enjoy the outdoors.
As most of us know though, just by observing the world around us; more children are spending less time outside, and more time inside. We wanted to design something that would help children get outside, but not just that, but help children enjoy fishing who may not have an opportunity for whatever the reason.
Two of the leaders in this cause though, believe it or not are two individuals who are too young to drive, and still require their parents to open the lid off the milk jug. Let me introduce you to Andrew and David.
The passion these two little guys have for fishing is great to watch. They love the outdoors, and being near water, and have picked up a skill at a very young age. All these things we would love to pass on to other children, so Little Anglers Canada was born.
It’s still in the very early stages of development, and our page for it is currently set up as a contest as that will be part of the program as well. But we’ll keep you posted as things develop. We’re hoping for something big. Contests during the summer, programs that will get the children involved all together, and much more. Activities that will help the children stay connected throughout the winter months as well.
We can’t wait for the official launch of it, and to get involved in helping parents and care givers get their young ones involved in an outdoor sport that will last the child a life time.
